Galadima Says Peter Obi Has Agreed to Include Allies in His Government If Elected

By Peace Erewunmi

A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Buba Galadima, has revealed that the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has agreed to give members of the coalition a role in his administration if he is elected president in the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE News, Galadima said the understanding among coalition members is that those who worked towards the party’s success would be part of the government. According to him, the arrangement reflects the coalition’s commitment to inclusive governance and collective responsibility rather than personal ambition.

Galadima also described the proposed Peter Obi–Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ticket as a “healing ticket,” saying it is designed to promote national unity, bridge regional divisions and offer Nigerians an alternative leadership focused on the country’s future.

He dismissed claims of disunity within the coalition, insisting that consultations among key political stakeholders remain on course ahead of the 2027 elections. He added that the alliance is focused on addressing Nigeria’s economic and governance challenges through a united opposition platform.

The remarks come as political realignments continue ahead of the 2027 general election, with opposition leaders intensifying consultations and coalition-building efforts aimed at presenting a formidable challenge in the presidential race.
