The former Minister of Special Duties and co-chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Planning Committee, Tanimu Turaki (SAN), has declared that the party’s mission to reclaim the Presidential Villa in 2027 has officially begun.
Turaki made the statement during the PDP National Convention held in Abuja, where party leaders and delegates gathered to strategize for the next general elections. He emphasized that the PDP remains Nigeria’s only viable alternative to what he described as the “failed government of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
“The journey to reclaim Aso Rock has started. Nigerians are tired of hardship, insecurity, and economic instability. The PDP is ready to return the country to the path of growth and unity,” Turaki said.
Also speaking at the event, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, reaffirmed the party’s confidence in winning the 2027 polls. He noted that Nigerians have witnessed the difference between both major parties and are eager for a change in leadership.
“Come 2027, Nigerians will speak with their votes. The PDP will defeat the failed APC government and restore hope to our people,” Ologunagba said.
According to The Punch, several PDP governors and stakeholders at the convention echoed similar sentiments, stressing the need for internal unity and youth involvement as key to reclaiming power from the ruling APC.
The PDP, which last held the presidency in 2015, has intensified efforts to rebuild its structures nationwide ahead of the next election cycle.
