JAMB Warns Public Varsities Against Breaching October 31 Admission Deadline

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a firm warning to public universities across Nigeria to complete all admission processes for the 2025/2026 academic session on or before October 31, 2025.
In a statement released by the Board, JAMB emphasized that the deadline remains sacrosanct and is part of efforts to maintain a stable and uniform academic calendar across tertiary institutions in the country.
According to JAMB, private universities have until November 30, 2025, to finalise their admissions, while polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions are expected to complete theirs within similar timelines.
The Board warned that any public institution that fails to comply with the stipulated deadline may face consequences, as the centralized admission system (CAPS) will automatically close for uploads beyond the approved date.
JAMB further urged institutions to ensure transparency and fairness in their admission process, stressing that all admissions must pass through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to be considered valid.
The Board reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the admission process is concluded early enough to enable students resume academic activities without delay.
