The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to give Nigeria’s service chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to defeat terrorists or step down from office.

Pastor Adeboye made the call during the November Holy Ghost Service held at the RCCG Redemption City, Ogun State, on Friday night. The revered cleric expressed deep concern over the persistent insecurity and loss of innocent lives across Nigeria.

He advised President Tinubu to act “fast, wisely, and diplomatically”, adding that those who finance or sponsor terrorism should also be brought to justice.

“Mr. President should give the service chiefs 90 days to defeat terrorists in all parts of the country. If they fail, they should honorably resign. The blood of Nigerians must no longer be shed,” Adeboye said.

The cleric also called on the government to ensure that both the terrorists and their sponsors are eliminated, warning that the nation cannot afford to continue losing its citizens to avoidable violence.

Pastor Adeboye’s message has since sparked widespread reactions among Nigerians, with many commending his courage in speaking truth to power, while others urge for national unity in tackling insecurity.

As of press time, there has been no official response from the Presidency or any of the service chiefs regarding Adeboye’s remarks.
